Founded by the noble family behind Champagne Taittinger, Claude Taittinger’s search for a worthy U.S. counterpart began in the late 1970s. In 1987 he selected a 138-acre parcel in the heart of Carneros, Napa Valley. He and his team created the quintessential California expression of the Taittinger style in Carneros.

All of their wines proudly hail from the Carneros appellation, and 95% of their fruit comes from the estate vineyards. The heart of Domaine Carneros has always been sparkling wines, with distinctive styles ranging from the classic vintage-dated Brut cuvée to their luxury Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs. In 1992 they added rich, complex Pinot Noir to their portfolio and their passion for sparkling and still wines continues to grow.

As anyone who has driven between Napa and Sonoma can tell you, the Domaine Carneros château is a stunning regional landmark. The perfect place to enjoy the fruits of their labor is with table side service on the terrace. Whether it’s the weather or looking for a more intimate experience, their tasting salon offers an equally luxurious experience. Available exclusively by reservation, the new Sparkling Suite gives couples an opportunity to book their own private château balcony overlooking Carneros vineyards. The Sparkling Suite includes a private tasting for two of Domaine Carneros sparkling wines and Pinot Noirs, paired perfectly with caviar, charcuterie and all the necessary accoutrements. As a keepsake, you’ll be gifted with your most memorable wine of the day.
