Cliff Lede VineyardsAre you looking for a Napa Valley lifestyle experience with a classic rock edge? At a place where the best of wine, music, art, architecture, and nature intersect? Cliff Lede fits the bill. Established in 2002, the winery was born when Canadian born Bordeaux wine enthusiast, Cliff Lede, acquired a sixty-acre estate in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. With a focus on producing wines from estate vineyards, he tapped David Abreu, considered the best viticulturist in Napa Valley, to replant the vineyards. Lede decided to name each vineyard block after some of his favorite rock songs and albums—from “My Generation” to “Dark Side of the Moon,” creating what is known today as the Cliff Lede Vineyards “Rock Blocks.”

In 2005, a state of the art, 25,000 square foot winery and cave system was etched into a hillside overlooking the estate vineyards. Not only did Cliff create a beautiful property, he also assembled an unrivaled team that shares his passion for quality. Today, Winemaker Christopher Tynan crafts a wide range of both reds and whites. In 2015, Cliff Lede Vineyards achieved both Napa Green Land and Napa Green Winery certification. Built into a hillside and contiguous with the caves, the winery features the White Room, named after the Beatles White album, which looks over both the striking tank room on one side, and the breathtaking vineyards and rugged landscape of the Stags Leap District on the other.

As with most wine tasting rooms, there are a number of different options for tasting. If you prefer an introduction to the wines, we recommend visiting the tasting bar. Here you’ll taste current releases from both Cliff Lede Vineyards and FEL Wines in their craftsman style tasting room, designed by renowned architect Howard Backen.

For a more relaxed atmosphere with an introduction to the wines. We can reserve a table on their beautiful veranda and enjoy table side service and views of the Stags Leap District palisades as you taste the current release wines from both Cliff Lede Vineyards and FEL Wines.

Instead of a full tasting there is also the option of tasting by the glass. In honor of Florence Elsie Lede, Cliff’s mother and the inspiration for FEL Wines, Cliff Lede recently opened the FEL Pinot Garden. Choose from a selection of wines by the glass, with a focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and relax in an Adirondack chair.

No matter the tasting option you choose, you’ll have the very best in Napa Valley experiences when you enjoy a glass here. Contact Dynamic Napa Wine Tours (707-252-2300) today to learn more about our Napa Valley tours and the wineries we love!
